BACKGROUND

Served an indentured apprenticeship in the construction industry in the nineteen fifties and later joined local government in facilities management . Then trained as a design engineer and became Chief Building Services Engineer with a large local authority.

In 1968 formed a Consulting Engineering Practice
specialising in building services design and supervision which grew to three offices in the United Kingdom by 1979. From 1975 began to accept instructions as an Expert Witness in building services and personal injury disputes and prosecutions. Evidence given in magistrates, county, crown and high courts and before arbitrators and also prepares reports for adjudication.

Listed in Debretts ‘People of Today’ and Freeman of the City of London.

Author of the text book ‘A Guide For The Expert Witness’, co-author of two other reference works and of numerous published technical papers.

Visiting lecturer in subjects which include health and safety and building services.

Past chairman of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers North West Regional Committee and of the Preston Centre.

Justice of the Peace since 1983. Member of the Adjudication Society.

Technical qualifications include: Eur Ing, C.Eng, F.C.I.B.S.E., F.S.O.E., F.I.Plant E., F.I.P.H.E., R.P., F.C.M.I., M.A.S.H.R.A.E., M.A.E.
